Funeral services for Patrick Christopher Brees, 26, of Knoxville, who died on Saturday, September 29, 2001, were held on Wednesday, October 3, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Gerald R. Feulmer officiated at the services. Music was provided by Barbara Westberg, organist and Rod Johnson and Karen Burke, vocalists.

Interment was at Ridlen Cemetery in Marion County. Casketbearers were Adam Darling, Daniel Hegwood, Brandon Johnson, Justin McCombs, Jason Shilling, Jennifer Swayne and Josh Test. Honorary casketbearer was Dustin Brees.

Patrick was born on November 12, 1974, in Iowa City. He was the son of Julie Ann Swayne and Timothy Dwain Brees. He was raised in Knoxville where he attended Knoxville schools. On October 27, 1998, he married Heather Lynn Smith in Knoxville.

He was employed as a welder for five years at Vermeer in Pella. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father, brother and family. He could be found on his motorcycle or out with his pick-up mudding.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Heather of Knoxville; three daughters, Cassie Brees, Shyann Brees, and Hannah Brees, all of Knoxville; three sons, Jacob Brees, Dylon Brees, and Austin Brees, all of Knoxville; his mother, Julie Brees of Knoxville; grandparents, Larry and Bonnie Swayne of Knoxville; grandmother, Dorothy Streeter of Knoxville; two great-grandmothers, Isabelle Marshall of Pershing and Luverne Moneysmith of Knoxville; a sister, Angie Westfall of Knoxville; and a brother, Dustin Brees of Knoxville.

Memorials may be made to his family.
