Myron W. Gleason, age 90, of rural Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2015, at his home in rural Knoxville.

Per Myron’s wishes, his body has been cremated and no services are planned.

Myron was born on May 30, 1925, to Arthur and Marvel (Hadley) Gleason, in Lacona, Iowa. Later, Myron and his parents moved to rural Knoxville where they farmed.

Myron graduated from Knoxville High School and went for one year to Simpson College before returning to the family farm. Myron enjoyed farming and raising cattle all his life on the family farm.

On March 9, 1955 in Knoxville, Myron and Carroll J. Smith were united in marriage. Myron and Carroll were blessed with over 60 years of marriage.

Myron is survived by his wife Carroll Gleason of rural Knoxville; and he is preceded by his parents, Arthur and Marvel Gleason.

The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Myron’s family.
