Michael Lewis Berhow, 61, passed away at his home on January 10, 2019.
Michael was born August 25, 1957, in Ames, Iowa to Ron and Rae Ann Berhow. The family moved to Knoxville and he graduated from Knoxville High School. Michael worked for the Heavy Equipment Operators Union for 30 years.
He also opened a video store called Mike’s Movies. Michael loved family, friends, music, motorcycles, fishing, and fun. He also enjoyed island life on St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and living in Naples, Florida before settling in Des Moines.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rhonda Berhow; son, Jacob (Shanda) Berhow; grandson, Gibson Michael Berhow; brother, Dan Berhow; sister-in-law, Debbie Barnes; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
