Memorial Mass for Mary Jayne (McConville) Salgado, 70, born June 26, 1931, the daughter of Edward Jay McConville and Catherine Murphy.

Mary died, Saturday, January 19, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines.

The body was cremated, and the burial of the cremains will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
She was born in Centerville and had grown up in Knoxville.

She had lived in Des Moines most of her life before moving to Melcher-Dallas. She moved to Waukee two years ago.

She was a homemaker and had operated a daycare service and taught ceramics classes. She enjoyed cross-stitch, ceramics and taking care of her children.

She is survived by a daughter, Laura Salgado of Clive; a son, Christopher Salgado of Des Moines; 14 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
