Mary Margaret (Jones) Black was born on July 25, 1922, in Marion County. She was one of five children were born to Anna Dana McClure and Harold Paul Jones.

Margie graduated from Knoxville High School in 1939. On March 8, 1942, she married Richard Lee Black.

They had two children. The Blacks celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death.

She worked alongside her husband on a farm south of Knoxville. Mary Margaret Black died on May 6 at Park Lane Village at the age of 82.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Dorothy Mae.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Larry Grimes of Knoxville; her son and daughter-in-law,Arthur and Carol Black of Knoxville; one grandson and his wife, Brent and Stacy Black of Knoxville; one granddaughter, Renae Black of Encino, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Douglas, Dawson and Shaylyn Black of Knoxville; one sister, Arlene Bailey of Knoxville and one brother and his wife, Ted and Judy Jones of Torrance, Calif.
