Marlin Duane Goemaat was born April 1, 1953 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Leonard
Goemaat, Jr. and Marjorie (Hyer) Goemaat.

Marlin earned his L.P.N. degree from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.
As a young man he spent summer months in Canada and winter months in Knoxville.
On March 1, 1975 he was united in marriage to Pamela Brees they were later reunited
in marriage on June 20, 2012.

For most of his life, Marlin was a forklift operator at Firestone Tire & Rubber
in Des Moines. He was forced to retire due to disability in 2011.

Marlin passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his residence at the age of
59 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjory Maas; grandparents, Clarence & Bethany
Hyer and Leonard and Pearl Goemaat and his brothers, Nathan and Harold Dale McCombs.

Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Pamela and step-son, Christopher
Brees both of Knoxville; 2 grandchildren: Ryan Davis and Dillion Hartley; 2 great-grandchildren:
Harley Davis and Hunter Davis; siblings: Larry Goemaat of Iowa City, Milo (Cindy) McCombs of Lovilia, Wendell McCombs of Oskaloosa, Michelle Sandeski of Canada and
Sandy McCombs of Knoxville; his father, Leonard, Jr. of Lovilia and many nieces,
nephews, other family members and friends.
