Services for Marion Clark Murphy, 87, of Pella, who died May 4, at Pella Community Hospital,
were held May 7, 1994, at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at
Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Reverend Martha Ward officiated at the services. Music was provided by Merrill
Womach. Pallbearers were Don Douwstra, Curt Welch, Greg Vandenberg, Martin Siestra,
Bill Lundy, and Larry Van Dusseldorp.

Clark was born in Somers, on May 26, 1906, the son of S.S. and Mabel Grey Murphy.
He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1926.

Clark worked as an electrician
his entire life. He worked many years for the United States Government in Alaska,
Guam, Saudi Arabia and Canada. He also worked for various power companies in Michigan,
Idaho, and Washington, and was retired from Iowa Power and Light.

He was a member
of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, and was a 50 year member of the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He married Geraldine James in July of 1957, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to
Knoxville in 1961, and to Pella in 1985.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geraldine; and a son, Roger.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Bailey of Prescott, Arizona; one brother,
Charles of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Gertrude Roberts of Kansas City, Kansas; one
stepdaughter, Jeanne Vandenberg of Pella; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Knoxville Rescue Unit.
