Margery Marie (Hill) Anderson passed away at the age of 92 from natural causes on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg, PA.

She was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was born on November 23, 1923, in Bussey, Iowa to her parents, Raymond and Garneth Hill.

She studied journalism at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in the 1940s and married Terry Ray Anderson in 1946. She called Pennsylvania her home for the last 65 years.

In 1966 at the age of 42, Mrs. Anderson was widowed when Terry was tragically killed in the line of duty serving as the lead FBI agent on a kidnapping case in Shade Gap, PA. This tragedy did not deter her strength as she proceeded to get her first driver’s license worked at Holy Spirit Hospital well into her 70s and raised and educated her four children.

While often quiet in demeanor, those who had the good fortune of being close to her quickly recognized her intelligence, sophisticated humor, and propensity for elaborate and clever practical jokes.

She shared humor as her legacy, often with her trusted yet elusive accomplice, Mrs. Hoolicooper, showing that intelligence and wit are strong elixirs to all that ails. She was a voracious reader and an independent thinker who showered her family and friends with affection.
