Margaret H. (Reynolds) Staymates, 84, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Cremation will take place and visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 12, at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 13, 2008, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 2110 W. First St., Ankeny, Iowa with a burial at 3 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens.

Margaret was born on November 22, 1924, in Winner, South Dakota to Orval and Oma Reynolds. Following high school, she moved to Washington DC where she met John Staymates. They were married on August 21, 1944.

Margaret was active in White Shrine and Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and helping friends. Margaret was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her daughters: Gayle (John) Sibert of Polk City IA, Janet (Gary) Butcher of Reno NV, and Janice Staymates of Dallas TX; grandchildren: Stacey Joynt, Danielle Dell, and Kimberly Shear; great-grandchildren: Ashley Joynt, Jesse Crozier, Hayley Dell, Amber Sibert, Kelsey Freeborn, Jeffrey, Dylan, Brooke, and Kaden Shear; and sister, Elmamae Shook of Chandler AZ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Staymates, and grandsons: Ron Sibert and Derrick Rodda.

Memorial Contributions can be directed to the Order of Eastern Star, Mercy Hospice-Johnston, or St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.
