Marguery Jane Bybee, Fleming, was born, on August 20, 1923, the daughter of Allen Peter Bybee (b.Mar 24, 1886-d.Mar 20, 1963) and Katherine Cline (b.Jul 19, 1884-d.Aug 12, 1972). She died Sunday, at the age of 86, on September 6, 2009, at the Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date.
Marguery was united in marriage to Owen Gathright Fleming on July 9, 1949, and to this union, one daughter was born.
Marguery is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Fleming (Steven H.) Pistor of Beverly Hills, MI; and two grandsons, Ian Fleming Dunham of Chicago and Henry Woodson Dunham of Los Angeles, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen G. Fleming (b.May 13,1927 d.Apr 7, 1994)
Kathryn writes this of her mother. “She was a wonderfully mysterious person; full of creativity, culture, humor, and silence. At the end of her life, she learned some powerful lessons; she learned to live successfully in a community, and she learned to work tirelessly and impeccably on her death.”
She died with courage and grace as she whispered goodbye and thank us all. I am proud of her. I love her and I miss her.
