Services for Anna Malvina Neely, 77, former Knoxville resident, who died April 1, 1981 at Sun City, Ariz., were held April 6 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Dr. Leonard E. Deaver officiated at the services, Music was provided by Anna Oscarson, the organist.

Pallbearers were Frank Mitchell, Chuck Still, Bob Remy, Lloyd Anderson, Carl Schwanebeck and Dale Wolfe.
Miss Neely was born November 28, 1903 at Knoxville, the daughter of Al and Emma Edwinson Neely.

She attended the Knoxville Public Schools and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1924. She attended Central College and Drake University where she obtained her B.A. degree.

She taught in Marion County rural schools for several years. She later taught at West Elementary School in Knoxville.

In 1963 she left Knoxville to make her home with her brother, Robert, in North Platte, Neb. where she taught in the St. Mary’s Parochial School for eight years. She then moved to Sun City, Ariz. where she continued to teach as a substitute in the Peoria, Dysart and El Mirage School until retirement.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville, the Daughters of Union Veterans, and Marion Rebekah Lodge No. 50 of Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Henry. She is survived by two sisters, Bertha Neely of Sun City, Ariz, with whom she made her home and Mrs. Harold (Willa) Carpenter of Knoxville.
