Funeral services for Mahlon A. Reidel, who passed away at his home Feb. 4, were held Feb. 7 from St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Ryan officiating.

Music was provided by the St. Anthony Adult Choir,
Pallbearers were Hubert lsenburg, Irvin Massick, Howard Robuck; Ernest Liebhart, Dale Whitlatch, and D.V. Ridnouer.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by Baty – Tucker Post 168 American Legion, and John Myers Post 3519 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mahlon A. Reidel was born Dec. 10, 1915 at Chariton, son of Albert and Martha Robuck Reidel.

On April 27, 1941, in Oskaloosa, he was united in marriage to Leona Schium.

Mahlon served for four years in the U.S. Army during World War II. In Jan. 1973, following 27 years service, he retired from the Veterans Hospital.

Mahlon was a member of St. Anthony Church, Baty Tucker Post No. 168 American Legion, John Myers Post No. 3519 V.F.W., and the Federal Retired Employees Association.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson, Michael.

Survivors include his wife Leona; two sons, Greg of Knoxville, and Douglas of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Veronica Glass of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Leeper of Knoxville.
