Services for Madge B. May, 86, of Knoxville, who died Sept. 5, 1985, at Griffin Nursing Center, were held Sept. 7 at Williams Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland cemetery.
Revs. K. Wayne Hoehn’s and John Beebout officiated at the services.
Music was provided by James Kidder, organist, and John Crawford, vocalist.

Pallbearers were Keith Agan, Dan Dykstra, Sam Goff, Ken Lundy, and Harry and Rick Stevenson.

Mrs. May was born on July 16, 1899 west of Knoxville, the daughter of William Grant and Sarah Grace Lewers Stevenson.
She attended Drake University in Des Moines.

On Dec. 20, 1922, she married Thomas S. May.
They farmed in the Columbia area for several years before moving to Melcher where they operated an oil and tank wagon service. Moving several other times to Knoxville, Vinton, and Estherville, in 1936, they retired to Mesa, Ariz. In 1980, she returned to Knoxville and had lived the last several years at Griffin Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
