Memorial services for Madge Marie (Momyer) Stittsworth, 95, of Walker, Minn., who died May 8, 1996 at
the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bemidji, Minn., will be held
May 19, 1995, at the Community Church in Walker, Minn. Dr. Richard Einerson will
officiate at the services.

Madge was born March 18, 1901, in Knoxville, the daughter of Martha and William
Momyer. She graduated from Knoxville High School'.

She was united in marriage to Willis A. "Jipe" Stittsworth, on June 24, 1920. The
couple farmed, and operated several businesses in Iowa, before moving to Walker,
Minn. in 1946. They were in the motel and resort business for many years, having
owned Bayside Resort, Walker Bay Resort, Grand Yu Lodge, and what is now the Chase
Motel.

She was a member of the Community Church of Walker, the Walker Order of Eastern
Star, and Rebecca Lodge. She was a volunteer for many years at the Woodrest Nursing
Home, as well as being active in many other community activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Rasche of Sarasota, Ha.; two sons, Willis
of Bemidji, Minn., and Wallace of Mason City; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,
and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Community Church Building Fund, and the North Country
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements were made by the Thomas-Dennis Funeral Home in Walker, Minn.
