Funeral services for Mary Madeline Renard, 74, of Knoxville, who died February 9, 1998 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held February II, 1998, at Evans-McCleery
Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy. The Rev. Bob Morris officiated at the services.
Mary was born January 15, 1924, in Marion County, the daughter of Alfred Bert and Mary Leona Penland Bailey.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1942.
She was united in marriage to Seraphin Glen Renard on April 28, 1945, in Knoxville. She was a lifelong resident of Marion County, and moved to Knoxville from Tracy six years ago. She was a homemaker and worked for several years at the Peoples Store in Knoxville.
She was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Stephen Glen Renard; and a brother, Howard Vance Bailey.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Ann Williams of Tracy, Eugenia Louise Sanders of Oskaloosa, and Mary Ann Renard of Louisville, Neb.; two sons, Larry and Ricky, both of Knoxville; a brother, Merle Bailey of Knoxville; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Tracy United Methodist Church, and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum.
