Funeral services for Lois (Spaur) Anderson, 83, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Knoxville, who died of a pulmonary embolism, Saturday, March 28, in San Antonio, were held April 4, 1998, at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Rev. Paul R. Tomlinson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist, and John Crawford, soloist. Pallbearers were Jim Kidder, John Crawford, Dick Miller, and Jim McCleery.

Lois was born March 31, 1914, in Marion County, the daughter of John Walter and Eva May Dixon Spaur. She graduated from Knoxville High School.

She was united in marriage to Guy Anderson on January 31, 1945, in Knoxville. She was a lifelong musician, and taught many people in Knoxville how to play the piano and organ. She was an organist for the First United
Methodist Church, and for 17 years was a member and organist for the First Presbyterian Church, in Knoxville.

She was also an accompanist for the high school for many graduations and ceremonies. She moved to Mason City in the late 1970s. Ten years later, she moved to Maryland to live with her son, and has lived with her daughter in Texas for the past seven years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Schafer of Universal City, Texas; two sons, Robert Dixon of Mesa, Ariz., and Jack Anderson of California, Md.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.

Arrangements were made by Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville, with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.
