Lois (Rankin) Fisher was born January 2, 1920, to Roy and Florence Rankin in Knoxville, Iowa. She
attended country schools and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1939.

On November
10, 1940 she was united in marriage to Elvis Fisher. They were blessed with six
children: Carolyn, Larry, Geraldine, Terry, Barry, and Garry. Lois was a hard worker
and had worked for Prange Grocery in Pleasantville, Melcher Supply, the Farm
House, and many other jobs, not including all the work of raising six children.
She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, embroidery, camping, traveling, and her pets.

She loved her family and enjoyed every moment spent together. She especially loved
her grandchildren, who will remember giving her hugs when they saw each other and
always waving goodbye as they drove out of sight. Lois passed away on January 10, 2011
at the age of 91 at the Westridge Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis; son Larry Fisher; infant sisters: Mildred and Ethel Rankin;
brother Fred Rankin; sister Ruby Young; a great-grandson Brandon; and sons-in-law
Don Breese and Michael Lee.

She will be missed by her children: Carolyn Breese, Geraldine Lee, Terry (Charlene) Fisher, Barry (Becky) Fisher, and Garry (Patti) Fisher all of Melcher-Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great
great-grandchildren; a special long-time friend, Mae Galvin; and many relativesLois Rankin
and friends.

Services for Lois Fisher, 91, were Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.
The family received friends Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.
