Lloyd Eldon Anderson, age 83, passed away at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation  Center of Knoxville on Saturday, September 22, 2012.

Lloyd was born April 25, 1929 in Knoxville the son of Eldie and Esther (Lloyd) Anderson.

Lloyd was a graduate of Knoxville High School, Class of 1947. After high school,
he attended diesel mechanics training in St. Louis, Missouri. After his training
Lloyd served in the United States Marine Corps for two years, during the Korean Conflict.

On July 3, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa Lloyd and Bonnie Dale Burnett were united in marriage. Lloyd and Bonnie shared 58 years of marriage together and were blessed with two daughters: Kristen and Kerry.

Lloyd enjoyed working. He drove a gas transport truck his entire working career.

He drove for DX, Sunoco, Holiday, and finished his 50-year gas transport career
with Flying J. Lloyd was an avid reader; he liked talking and meeting people and
was crazy about pets, especially dogs.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Bonnie of Knoxville; their two daughters: Kristen
Kennedy of Knoxville and Kerry Anderson and husband John G. Haas of Urbandale. Lloyd is also survived by five grandchildren: Andy Haning, Caitlyn Haning, Leah Huyser, John D. Haas and Allison Kea; and five great-grandchildren: Andie Alexander, Kaylie Haas, Bayley Kea, Logan Kea and Grace Kea.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eldie and Esther.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville with Pastor Cindy Nielson officiating.Lloyd Anderson 2

Lloyd’s family will be greeting friends from 12:00 noon until service time on Friday. Following services internment of cremated remains with military honors will be held at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.

A memorial has been established to the Knoxville Humane Society. Condolences may
be sent to www.winfieldfh.com. Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is handling arrangements.
