Funeral services for Linda Kay (Avery) Langstraat, 55, of Monroe, who died July 1, at the
Pella Regional Medical Center, were held July 4, 1998, at the United Methodist Church
in Monroe.

Burial was at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. The Rev. Karen E.H. Merrill,
and Pastor Greg Baum officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jacqueline
Robinson, organist. Pallbearers were Frank Vander Broek, Vern Visser, Gary Neal,
Jerry Johnston, Tom Mouw, and Steven Elsloo.

Linda was born April 1, 1943, in Knoxville, the daughter of Robert Wesley and Alice Lorraine Simmons Avery.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1961.

She was united in marriage to Larry Langstraat on July 11, 1962, in Missouri.
She was employed by the Pella Corporation and attended
the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother of Knoxville; her husband of Monroe; a son, Michael
of Ankeny; three daughters, Kimberly Sue Langstraat, Lisa Marie DeVore, and
Darcy Diane Langstraat, all of Monroe; two sisters, Judith Avery, of Knoxville, and Nancy
Garrison of Des Moines; three brothers, John Avery of Des Moines, Martin Laird of
Melcher-Dallas, and Lawrence Laird of Independence; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.

Home in Monroe.
