Leona Irene Chrismore, daughter of Elba E. and Mary Pringle Chrismore was born in
Lewis county, Missouri, February 6, 1904. When about a year old she came with her
parents to Marion county and spent the rest of her his here except for three years
in Warren county.

She died at her home in Knoxville, December 2, 1962, following several months illness
with cancer. The month of June she was a patient at the University hospital at Iowa
City, after which she was cared for in her own home by her family and a very dear
friend, Mrs. Genevieve Clark. Everything was done to alleviate her suffering.

Irene grew to young womanhood south of Knoxville, was graduated from the Knoxville
high school, and taught for a short time in the rural school.

On Christmas day, 1924, she was united in marriage to Worth B. Mott, of Carlisle,
and to this union was born four children, Corwin W. Mott, of New Virginia, Mrs.
Marilyn Hale, Mrs. Carolyn Snyhort and Benny E. Mott, all of Knoxville, who, with
her devoted parents, survive.

When a young woman Mrs. Mott united with the Methodist church. She was active in
its various organizations and was always willing to help in any way for the betterment
of mankind.

Funeral services were held December 4, at 2 o'clock, from the First Methodist church,
conducted by Rev. Paul M. Hann. with interment in the Graceland cemetery.
