A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln
Cemetery in Knoxville. As a wish of Lenna, her body has been cremated.

Lenna Myrtle was
born in Knoxville on Jan. 22, 1925, to George and Nettie (Bingham) Lankford. Lenna
passed on at home, with her family, on Tuesday March 9, 2010, due to complications
of pancreatic cancer.

Lenna was united in marriage to Phillip Gregory Simmons on
January 22, 1947. To this union five children were born: Lavern, Carla, Kristie,
Lori, and Lanette.

Lenna was a homemaker and worked part-time through the years
as an Avon Representative, at Perkey Gardens, and for Jim and Lilt Thill as a gardener.
Lenna enjoyed working in her garden and nurturing her many flower gardens and plants.
She loved canning, cooking, and most people will remember her for the wonderful
pies she baked.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters Kristie (Doug) Karns, Lori Townsend, Carla (JD) Karns all of Knoxville, Lanette Simmons of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
A sister-in-law Elvira "Vickie" McCombs of Tracy, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-
grandchildren.

Lenna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; a
granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central
Iowa.
