Larry Dorsey was born in Greenfield, Iowa and died May 4, 1958 at Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa.

Services were held at the First Methodist Church – Knoxville, Iowa on Tuesday, May 6, 1958, at 1:30 p.m.

Officiating was Rev. M D. Summerbell.
Interment at Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa.

Funeral service for Knoxville High School students, Larry Bankus, 17, and Larry Dorsey, 17, who died at Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon from injuries received at noon when a car driven by Dorsey went out or control on Highway 92, south 2 mile east of Knoxville.

Separate services for Bankus and Dorsey were held from First Methodist
Church Tues. an afternoon with Rev. M. D. Summerbell in charge. Interment was in Graceland.

More than 700 persons attended each of the services. Dorsey, a senior, had been active in athletics. He was a member of the football and track teams.

Bankus, a junior, was a member of football, basketball and track teams.
Bankus, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bankus, was born in Phillip County, Ark. Other survivors include brother, James, now a student at Parsons College, Kathleen a student in Knoxville Junior High.

Dorsey the son of John Raulin Dorsey (b.1917-d.1986) Shirley Dorsey (b.1922-d.2005), was born at Greenfield. Other survivors include a sister, Judy Ann Dorsey.

Evans Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
