Larry Wendell Bankus was born in Phillip County, Arkansas, on September 29, 1940.
Died May 4, 1958, Collins Memorial Hospital Knoxville, Iowa.

Services from First Methodist Church Knoxville Tuesday, May 6, 1958, at 3:00 p.m. Officiating Rev. M.D. Summerbel.

INTERMENT: Graceland Cemetery. Evans Funeral Service Funeral service for Knoxville High School students, Larry Bankus, 17, and Larry Dorsey, 17, who died at Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon from injuries received at noon when a car driven by Dorsey went out of control on Highway 92, south 2 miles east of Knoxville.

Separate services for Bankus and Dorsey were held at First Methodist Church Tues. an afternoon with Rev. M. D. Summerbell in charge. Interment was in Graceland.
More than 700 persons attended each of the services. Dorsey, a senior, had been active in athletics. He was a member of the football and track teams.

Bankus, a junior, was a member of football, basketball, and track teams.

Dorsey the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raulin Dorsey, was born at Greenfield. Other survivors include a sister, Judy Ann.

Evans Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Bankus, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bankus, was born in Phillip County, Ark. Other survivors include brother, James, now a student at Parsons College, and Kathleen a student in Knoxville Junior High.

Dorsey the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raulin Dorsey, was born at Greenfield. Other survivors include a sister, Judy Ann. Evans Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Hurled to Death Larry Bankus, 17, was thrown through a garage roof to his death in an auto accident near Knoxville, Ia. The car left the highway, rolled end over end 700 feet down an embankment, broke off a telephone pole, and came to rest upended on the tree.
A companion also was killed.
