Kenneth Leon Crone was born July 14, 1934 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Leon and Wilma (Nutter) Crone.

He was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1953. Following high school, Ken drove a truck for Dixon Wholesale and was a Ford mechanic in Des Moines.

On December 7, 1958 he was united in marriage to Jacklyn Evans in Knoxville. Ken would soon take a job at Western Electric as a Telephone Technician. He was considered excellent with his work and traveled across the United States from Wyoming to New York for his employer.

Ken retired December 31, 1986 from what had become AT&T Technology. In his retirement he worked as a greens keeper at the Pleasantville Country Club.

Ken liked sports, especially golfing, the Hawkeyes and the Steelers. He loved vintage cars and could work on them and tell all the particulars of the different models and years. He had a passion for cars and was a true mechanic at heart.

Ken passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 9 days.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those left to cherish Ken’s memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Jackie; children: Kelly Langebartels (Randy) of Melcher and Jerald Crone (Chris) of Waukee; his mother, Wilma of Indianola; sister, Kathi Dullard (Dennis) of Des Moines; 4 grandchildren: Korina, Iziah, Emily and Erin; 2 great-grandsons: Balian and Mason and many other family members and friends.
