Patricia Ann (VandeKamp) Brown age 68, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center of Des Moines, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville, with Swann Juline officiating.

Patricia’s family will be greeting friends on Monday at the Winfield Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M., until service time.

Patricia was born in Knoxville, Iowa on July 26, 1946, the daughter of Glen Merle and Bernita Mae (Cowman) Vande Kamp.

Patricia attended school in Tracy, Iowa until high school where she graduated from Knoxville High School. On April 26, 1969, Patricia and Roger Carrol Brown were united in marriage. They were blessed with four children: Michelle, Tony, Monte, and Melissa. Patricia and Roger shared 40 years before Roger’s passing on May 12, 2009.

Patricia was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was a former waitress at Frankie’s Feed Lot and for several years she enjoyed working many hours providing security at the Knoxville Race Track north gate. She enjoyed video gambling on her computer or casino and for several years she enjoyed gardening, canning, mushroom hunting, and being outdoors.

Patricia is survived by her children, Michelle (Bryan) Brees of Oskaloosa, Tony (Tammi) Brown of Pleasantville, Monte Brown of Knoxville, and Melissa Brown of Knoxville; ten grandchildren, Joshua and Abby Brees, Christopher and Paige Brown, Hunter, Scout, Gauge, Kylee, and Kelsee Van Haalen, and Madison Brown.

Patricia is also survived by her father, Glen Vande Kamp; one sister, Mary Lou (Larry) Smith of Knoxville; two brothers, Larry (Patsy) Vande Kamp of Swan and Ron (Cindy) Vande Kamp of Knoxville; two sisters-in-law, Nina Arnett of Knoxville and Mary Brown of Cuba, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernita Vande Kamp; her husband of 40 years, Roger Brown; one sister, Nancy Vande Kamp; and a granddaughter, Haley Noel Brees.Pat VandeKamp
