Kenneth Dean Barnes. 69. of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Oct. 30 2002, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 am. Wednesday, Nov. 6. 2002, at Evans McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville, Pastor Charles McMillian officiating. Private burial of cremains will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.
He was born Aug. 9. 1933 to Fred and Daisy, Richmond Barnes
in Lovilla.
;He attended school in Newton and Knoxville. He lived most of his life in Knoxville And retired in 1998 with over 30 years as a machinist for Van Gorp Corp. in Pella.
He also was currently working for DeVore Chevrolet in Knoxville on a part-time basis. He enjoyed, watching
car races, driving trucks, and especially eating out at Mr. C’s Restaurant.
He is survived by one son, Rod of Sanibel. Fla., two daughter,. Rhonda Berhow and husband Mike of Naples. Fla., and Debbie Barnes of Des Moines; one step-daughter Karen Stanley of Knoxville: two grand-children. Jake Berhow and Emmy Lou Barnes: two sisters Lucille Fortune of Newton and Wilma Henderson of Phoenix, Ariz:. and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Homer.
Memorials may be made to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum.
Evans-McCleery Funeral Home of Knoxville is in charge of arrangements.
