Graveside memorial services for June Violet (Rankin) Fisher, 75, of Mission, Texas, formerly
of Knoxville, who died February 4, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas,
were held May 24, 1995, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Dr. Gordon M. Amott
Sr. officiated at the services.

Violet was born July 6, 1919, in Knoxville, the
daughter of Fred and Maude DeHeer Rankin. She attended the First Christian Church
during her school years. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1937.

She was
united in marriage to Woody Fisher at Unionville, Mo. on March 25, 1940. The couple
made their home during their 56 years of marriage in Carlisle, Pleasantville, and
Knoxville. They lived on a farm south of Knoxville from 1956 to 1986. During the
last 12 years, they spent their winters in the Rio Grande Valley at Mission, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Keith Rankin. She is survived
by her husband, Woody, of Knoxville; two daughters, Dixie Ann Fisher, of Carlisle,
and Mary Lou Farmer of LeClare; a brother, Howard Rankin of Dayton; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were made
by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
