Services for Beverly J. (Dodds) Awtry, 63, of Cozad, Neb., who died January 29, at Good
Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb., was held on January 31, 1995, at First United
Methodist Church in Cozad.
The Rev. Bob Neben officiated at the services. Burial
was at Cozad Cemetery.

Beverly was born September 4, 1931, at Waverly, the daughter
of Dwight and Virginia Hufford Dodds. She graduated from Knoxville High School.
She lived in Knoxville, and later in Wyoming, Colorado, California, and Kimball,
Nebraska, before moving to Cozad in 1961.

She was united in marriage to James Awtry
on August 6, 1948, in Unionville, Mo. They were active in the operation of Dodds
Department Stores until 1964, when they started the Midway Resort Steakhouse at
Midway Lake south of Cozad.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and
a former member of the Newcomers Club.

She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia; her husband, James; a son, Greg; a daughter,
Ginny Otterstein; a brother, Eugene Dodds, all of Cozad; a sister, Connie Kennelly
of Coronado, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements
were made by Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
