John Paul Morgan was born on Oct. 12, 1954, in Knoxville to Earl and Marguerite (Brubaker) Morgan.
He was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Class of 1972.
Following high school, J.P. attended Lincoln Technical College
and later earned a drafting degree. He worked for several years for his father in
the family business, Morgan Cabinet Supply.
On July 20, 1975, he married Suzanne Jones in Knoxville and the couple has always
made their home here. J.P. started working for the Post Office in 1983 and was still
employed as a letter carrier at the time of his death. He enjoyed his job because
it allowed him to stay fit and visit with his many friends.
The better part of J.P.’s life was spent in service to his fellowman, from his years
at the Post Office to his active involvement in the New Covenant Church, the Knoxville
Booster Club and his many years of coaching baseball and volleyball.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, be it a trip to Minnesota,
doing landscape work, or snorkeling in sports, and was a Chicago Bears fan also.
Above all else, J.P. will be remembered as a faithful servant of God and mankind
and a devoted husband, father, and son. J.P. was a member of the New Covenant Church
and its executive board, the Knoxville Booster Club, Marion County Sportsman’s
Club and the Postal Union.
He passed away on Dec. 7, 2006, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines
at the age of 52. J.P. was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Suzanne; children, Natalie and Drew Morgan of

and many other family members and friends.
