Jerry Lee Sharp of Knoxville passed away Sunday morning, February 7, 2010, at the
Hospice Comfort House of Pella, Iowa. Memorial services with Masonic Rites will
be held, Thursday at 2:00 P.M., February 11th, at the Winfield-Evans-McCleery Funeral
Home of Knoxville.
Following services burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery
in Knoxville. Visitation will begin on Thursday, from 10:00 A.M., until service
time. Family will greet friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M., The family requests
no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Knoxville Masonic Lodge or Hospice
Comfort House of Pella.
Jerry was born in Knoxville January 26, 1940 the son of
Harry and Muriel (Vander Linden) Sharp. He graduated from Bussey High School. Jerry
was employed by Rankin Roofing and retired from the Knoxville Veterans Hospital
after 28 1/2 years of service.
Jerry was a member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge
and the ZaGaZig Shrine. He also was a member of the Isseta Parade Unit of the Shrine.
Jerry had also been a member of the Knoxville Volunteer Fire Department for tenyears, from 1976 to 1986. Jerry enjoyed camping with family and friends.
Jerry was
preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Sharp. Jerry is survived by
his children: Dale Sharp, Sherry (Millard) Gist, Lynne (Eric) Robinson, and Steve
Sharp; grandchildren: Josh, Stephanie, Austin, Kaitlyn, Chris and Megan, and Curt
and Mel; Great Grandchildren: Gage, Curtis, Hunter, Jaydon, and Landon. Jerry also
is survived by his brothers Don (Kathy), Rick (Donna) and Ted (Judy); nieces and
many much loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
