Dwight Jerry Ogden, 62, died at his home in Ajo, Arizona on July 9, 2006.

He was born October 3, 1943, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Loretta Fern (Dixon) & Lawrence Hamlet Ogden. He served in the US Marines from 1962 to 1966.

On December 11, 1965, he married Jane Ann Whitus. The couple moved to Ajo from Yuma In 1991 he was in communications for 35 years. He worked as a manager for both Sahuaro and its successor Mediacom from 1991 to 1995. He was quality assurance manager for Mediacom and, from 2000 to 2006; he traveled, representing the corporate office of Mediacom.

Earlier, he spent eight years with the police department in Yuma. In Ajo, he was a member of the Elks Lodge,the American Legion, the Veterans Foreign Wars, and the now closed Moose Lodge.

A genial man, he enjoyed his work and flying to all the places Mediacom served.
He also enjoyed camping, working on his computer, woodworking, exploring the desert
around Ajo, and taking pictures. An author, he wrote three books. Above all else,
he was devoted to his family and loved being with his grandchildren.

Mr. Ogden was preceded in death by his parents and by his twin brother. He is survived by his wife, Janie Ogden of Ajo; by his son, Robert Ogden of Ajo; by his daughter & son-in-law,Jennifer & Mike Wade; by his brother, Steve Lowell Ogden of Knoxville, Owa; and by his six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held this Saturday, July 15, at 1 p.m. in Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church with Pastor Gary Stacy officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Ogden, Robert Ogden, Mike Wade, John Libkie, Arnold
Cool, Eric Weber, Joseph Amerson, Clay Blanco, and Robert Edgington. The family
suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
