Jerry Lee Kline, 76, was born February 7, 1940, to Charles and Blanche Kline in Bussey, Iowa. He passed away at Taylor House on Friday, April 15, 2016.
Jerry graduated from Knoxville High school in 1958 and received his Bachelor’s from Marycrest College. He served in the Iowa National Guard for 36 years and retired in 1997.
After retiring he continued working part-time at the Federal Courthouse Annex Building.
Jerry loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon; sons, Tom Kline and Tim (Charity) Kline; step-daughters, Darla Graeve and Darcey (Bob) Sanford; grandchildren, Zoe Kline, Peyton Kline, Devin Kline, Zachary Ferguson, Nicholas Kline, Cody Graeve, Cally Graeve, Kyle Sanford, Bryce Sanford, and Cole Sanford; great-grandchild, Sawyer Graeve; sisters, Em Poffenbarger, Betty McRoberts, and Lin Williams; sister-in-law, Darlene Kline.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Kline; siblings, Doris Williams, Jeff “Merle” Kline, and Charles “Skip” Kline.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th St. SW, Altoona, Iowa 50009. The family will receive visitors Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa 50313
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Cross in the loving memory of Jerry.
