Jane O. (Wooldridge) Bales, was born on April 14, 1939, to Verda (Davis) and Dale Wooldridge. She was one of 16 children in the family.
She graduated Knoxville High School with the Class of 1957 and later married Roger Lee Bales.
Roger and Jane, along with their sons, showed horses and mules in many events throughout the country. They enjoyed camping and trail riding with the family’s many friends. She loved spending time with her family.
Jane, a resident of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015. There will be no services as her wishes were to be cremated.
Jane is survived by three sons, John and Sue of Lacona; Roger Jr. “Rusty” and Margaret of Darlington, Wis., and Scott of Knoxville; five grandchildren, Nick and Stephanie at Topeka, Kan., Valarie and Shane at De Forest, Wis., Andrew of Des Moines, Amy of Altoona and Dina of Des Moines; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Betty Lucille, Wanda Sellers, Bonnie Schrader, and JoAnn Camerson; and six brothers, Marvin, Junie, Robert, Raymond Dale, Bill, and Edward Lee.
Also, surviving are four brothers, Charles Wooldridge of Knoxville, Danny Wooldridge, Sr. of Knoxville, Jack Wooldridge of Knoxville, Donald Wooldridge of Harvey; and sister, Mary Pregon of Pershing; as well as other relatives and friends.
