Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to Jim “Chris” Stephens, 70, during a celebration of life gathering at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Private family burial will be at the Gosport Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the care of his mother, Phyllis Stephens, and will be designated at a later date.

James Christian Hale was born November 9, 1952, in Potter County, Texas to Phyllis Rinehart. He was later adopted by John Stephens. Known as Chris to his family and Jim to his co-workers and friends. Chris was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1971. He then attended Iowa State University and graduated with a major in Architecture and a minor in Urban Renewal. Chris loved woodworking and enjoyed reading. Chris worked at Pella Corporation for 30-plus years.James Stephens

Chris was preceded in death by his father, John Stephens. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Phyllis Stephens; brother, Calvin Stephens; niece, Katie House; nephew, John Stephens; great nephews: Kaiden House and Kason House; along with many relatives and friends.

Pierschbacher Funeral Home is assisting his family with arrangements.
