James Douglas “Jamie” Dailey, age 66, of Knoxville passed away on Thursday evening, June 17, 2021, at the West Ridge Specialty Care of Knoxville.
Jamie’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Jamie’s graveside memorial service with military honors will follow at 11:15 A.M., at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Jamie was born on February 1, 1955, in Knoxville, Iowa. He was the son of George and Bettie Lou Dailey. Jamie grew up in Knoxville and attended Knoxville High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.
Jamie was an avid guitar player and especially loved playing with his dad at Christmas for the family. He loved John Wayne movies, Johnny Cash music, and sprint cars, (Jamie Ball being his favorite”.
He was very proud of his work at the auction house with Rick VanDonsler, who was a very dear friend.
Jamie was kind, caring, the heart of gold, and fiercely protective of his family. He will be missed.
Left to honor his memory are his mother, Bettie Lou; his daughter Seleta Stewart and her husband Jason; two grandchildren, Peyton and Preston.
Jamie is also survived by his siblings, Rick Dailey and his wife Lois, Kathie Chambers and her husband Larry and Ann Wallace and her husband Jackie, and many nieces and nephews.
Jamie is preceded in death by his father George Dailey.
A memorial has been established in Jamie’s memory to the Marion County Humane Society.
