Jack Leland Minard was born November 2, 1959, in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Jack VanderLinden and Pearl Simmons.

He was raised in Knoxville and attended Knoxville schools. He spent most of his life pouring and finishing concrete. Jack enjoyed exploring nature while hiking outside.

He had a big heart and was always helping family and friends. Jack’s greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jack passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at his home at the age of 52 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; sister, Karen Simmons; grandparents, Gladys and Worth Simmons and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother, Pearl Minard of Knoxville, four children: Misti (Heidie) Mikesell of Knoxville, Nikki (Shawn) Langlois of Albia, Jakki (Nick) Sedlock of Knoxville and Nathan (Nikki) Minard of Knoxville; siblings: Judy (Bobby) Cooley of Lovilia, Sharon (Warren) Kagel of Knoxville, Rick (Alicia) Minard of Harvey, Connie (Bob) Feyette of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Sonny VanderLinden of Oskaloosa,
Loretta Smith of Des Moines and Diane of Oskaloosa.
