Funeral services for Irene Mary (Schlotterback) Mart, 95, of Knoxville, who died Saturday, Feb.
9, 2002, at her home, were held Thursday, Feb. 14, at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home
in Knoxville.

The Rev. Peter J. Petersen officiated at the services. Interment was
in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Casketbearers were Rick and Randy VanDusseldorp,
Kevin Mart, Stan Peterson, Kevin McNaul and Aaron Pettit.

She was born Feb. 2, 1907,
in Knoxville, the daughter of Clyde M. and Mary Courtney Schlotterback. She graduated
from Knoxville High School in 1925.

She married Dwight B. Mart on Feb. 3, 1926,
in Knoxville. She lived in Knoxville her entire life. In addition to being a mother
and homemaker, she worked as a clerk for several Knoxville stores. She was a member
of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

She served on many committees
and was awarded a U.M.W. Recognition Pin in 1972. She was also a member of Sarah
Circle. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in
death by her parents; her husband, Dwight; and three brothers, Dwight, Robert and
Merle.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Phyllis Mart of Monroe;
a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ken Doty of Oskaloosa; six grandchildren; three
adopted grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four adopted great-grandchildren;
five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Schlotterback of Dysart
and Ruth Schlotterback of Knoxville; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives
and friends.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church. Arrangements
were made by Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.
