Iona (Roland) Yacinich age 87 of Knoxville, died Friday, October 7, 2005, at Knoxville Area
Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 11,
2005 at the Apostolic Church in Knoxville, Iowa with the Rev. Charles Rutter and Rev. Donald Baker officiating.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Monday with the family present to receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.

Iona was born on April 21, 1918, in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of David and Tillie Roland.

She was united in marriage with Arthur Allard on July 19. 1934. Arthur passed away on July 28, 1960.

She then was united in marriage with Victor Yacinich on April 23, 1962. Victor passed away on February 7, 1989.

Iona cooked for many different restaurants in the area as well as for the Knoxville Rotary Club and the Knoxville Country Club. She was also known as the Knoxville Pie Lady for the wonderful pies she created for many years at the Knoxville Sale Barn.

Her survivors include son Rev. John (Jan) Allard of Oskaloosa, and son Leonard (Judy) Allard of Oskaloosa, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren, and one brother David(Oleta) Roland of Harvey, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and two sisters.<br
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials in Iona’s name should be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
