Elizabeth (Stittsworth) was born on Dec. 30, 1914, in rural Marion County.
She was one of six children born to Dollie Powers and John Louis Stittsworth.

Inez
attended rural schools in Marion County and graduated from Knoxville High School.
She continued her education by receiving a B.S. Degree from Drake University and her
M.S. from the University of Wyoming.

Inez taught in several different schools in
Marion County before starting in the Knoxville School District in 1946. She retired
from elementary teaching after almost 40 years. Inez was named Elementary School
Teacher of the Year for 1969-1970.

Inez's love of poodles led her to meet and eventually
marry Floyd Anton Ellerhoff on Oct. 14, 1973. The couple each had poodles they continued
to enjoy during their marriage. Some of her favorites were Cookie, Penny and Susie.
Floyd passed away on Nov. 16, 1992.

Inez was a member of the Mary Marion Chapter
of the DAR, the Retired Teachers Association, and the First Presbyterian Church in
Knoxville. Joining the church in 1932 made Inez the oldest member of the church. Inez was an avid reader throughout her entire life.

She enjoyed all types of books
and magazines. Inez also enjoyed participating in the lives and activities of her
nieces and nephews.

Inez Ellerhoff passed away on Feb. 3, 2007, at the Westridge
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville at the age of 92.
