Funeral services for Inez Pearl (Core) Hedrick, 100, of Knoxville, who died July 11, at
the Pella Regional Health Center, were held July 14, 1998, at the First United Methodist
Church in Knoxville. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Rev. Bob Morris officiated at the services. Music was provided by Linda Gehling,
organist. Pallbearers were Phil Hedrick, Carol Hedrick, John Hedrick, and Ned Hedrick
Jr.

Inez was born June 30, 1898, in Barnes City, the daughter of Arthur and Bessie Reese
Core. She was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School.

She was united in marriage to A.E. Hedrick on October 22, 1919, in Knoxville. She
worked part-time at Hedrick Dry Cleaners before selling he business, then worked
for 13 years at the VA Medical Center, retiring in 1965.

She was a member of the
First United Methodist Church, the Martha Circle, and was a charter member of the
Mentor Study Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Paul Core
and Ronald Core.

She is survived by two sons, Ned of Pella, and Harold of Sully; a daughter, Eloise
Houser of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
