Services for Howard Donald Anderson, 64, of Knoxville, who died March 9, 1994, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held March 12, 1994, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Gosport Cemetery in Marion County.

The Reverend L.H. Swartzendruber officiated at the services.
Music was supplied by Darlene Mooberry, organist, and John Crawford, vocalist. Pallbearers were David Anderson, Larry Anderson, Tom Anderson, Russell Crozier, Bert Dennison, and Don Vanden Berg. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post #168, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3519.

Howard was born September 13, 1929, the son of Levi Ray and Goldie Marie Anderson.

He spent his early years working on the family farm and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947. He joined the Army in 1954 and spent most of his tour of duty in Germany, where he was an artillery gunner and an expert rifleman with the 265th Field Artillery Battalion. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and returned to the family farm.

He enjoyed working with cars and talking to people. He was a member of the American Legion Post #168 in Knoxville, and also the Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post #3519 in Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James.

He is survived by a brother, Loren of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Fire and Rescue Unit.

Arrangements were made by the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
