Mrs. Hilda Ruth (King) Caswell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William King was born September 15, 1915, in Knoxville, Iowa, and died at her home in Dearborn, Michigan, Thursday, March 26, 1942, aged 26 years, 6 months and 12 days.

Mrs. Caswell received her education in Knoxville and graduated in the year 1933.

She was united in marriage to John Caswell, on November 2, 1935. To this happy union one son, Phillip Mark, was born.

Mr. and Mrs. Caswell made their home in Knoxville until last August, when Mr. Caswell accepted a position for the Government in defense work at Dearborn Michigan, where they lived at the time of Mrs. Casewell’s death.

Under the ministry of the Rev. Mr. Shockey of Knoxville when Mrs. Caswell was a girl of sixteen years, she became a member of the Free Methodist church. Her life was definitely marked by a deep devotion and loyalty to the church and her Lord.

Mrs. Caswell filled a large place in the church and community, always willing to resume responsibilities that demanded strength, tie, and self-sacrifice. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Junior band leader, Young People’s president, and in many other offices which she discharged with marked ability and success.

In the Community, she served as Loyal Temperance Legion superintendent and president of the Iota Sigma. She was a successful homemaker, a tender devoted wife, and a loving capable mother. Her sweet humble spirit of Christianity won for her friendship among all who knew her.

Mrs. Caswell leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and son of Dearborn, Michigan; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William King of Knoxville; one sister, Annabelle of Knoxville; and four brothers, Howard of Des Moines, Herbert of Webster City, John Edward in the United States Navy, and Billy of Knoxville; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
