Frances E. Hindman, daughter of Thos. J. and Margaret Conway Hindman, died Friday, February 6, 1942, at Sunny-slope Sanitarium, Ottumwa, at the age of 31 years, 4 months and 7 days.

Frances was born at the Old Hindman home in northeast Knoxville township and spent practically all her life in this vicinity.
The deceased graduated from the Knoxville high school in the class of 1930, and immediately afterward took the position of bookkeeper with the Swift Produce Co.

She resigned this position four years later to become deputy county recorder which position she held for six years. She resigned this position on account of falling health and went to Phoenix, Ariz., in the hope that the warm sunshine and mild climate would help her regain her usual buoyancy and good health.

One having her energetic and ambitious spirit could not be satisfied in idleness and soon she had a position as bookkeeper in a furniture store in Phoenix.

Feeling her strength waning she returned home December 3 and on January 27 entered the Sunny-slope Sanitarium.

Having a sweet, lovable deposition, she endeared herself to all whom she met in the various walks of life and will be greatly missed in the home circle and by her many friends.

Miss Hindman is survived by her father and mother, three sisters and three brothers, Inez, Gladys, Mary Jean and James at home, Richard in the navy, stationed at Quanset Point, Rhode Island, and Chester, private in the army, stationed at Port Dix, New Jersey.

Requiem mass was held at St. Anthony's church Tuesday, February 10, at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father James L Garrity officiating. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.

Pallbearers were six cousins, Harry Conway, Robert DeWitt, Arthur Finarty, Robert Hindman, Raymond White and John Crossen.
