Henry “Pete” Deeringer, 91, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at his home in Broken Bow.

Pete was born May 26, 1923, in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of Henry O. Deeringer and Iva Agnes Rumbaugh Deeringer. He was a member of the Antique Car Club, Coffee Clubs, Iowa Honey Association, the Des Moines FFA, and 4H Clubs.

Pete had lived in Broken Bow for the last 28 years moving here from Des Moines, Iowa.

Pete loved people and he counted his friends as his most precious possessions. He often said, “A man with a host of friends is a rich man indeed”. He loved the excitement and challenge of starting new businesses, projects, or learning how to master any new job.

Pete had many different jobs in his lifetime, some of which were, a coal miner, grocery store clerk, gas station attendant, truck driver, apartment manager, salesman, siding applicator, window and door installer, roofer, and just a general handyman, beekeeper and honey processor, marina worker, woodworker, and flea marketer. Anyone knowing Pete knew the most important part of his life was to be a productive working part of society.

He loved his neighbors, family, and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Iva Agnes Deeringer; sons, Brad Deeringer and Jeff Deeringer.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his companion of 20 years, Linda Carrier; daughters, Tanya Wadstrom ofHenry Deeringer
Carlisle, Iowa, and DeLaine Cline of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Bettie Lou Dailey of Knoxville, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
