Services for Harry Lee Sims, 58, of Knoxville, who died Nov. 13, 1984 at his home,
were held Nov. 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Evans-McCleery
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev. John Beebout officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder,
organist, and John Crawford, soloist. Pallbearers were Ben Smith, Dick Darnell,
Jay Love, Jim Darnell, Bob Steele, and John Buban.

Mr. Sims was born on Oct. 20,
1926 in Knoxville, the son of John and Loreen Beaver Sims. He attended Victory Country
School and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1944.

On Dec. 16, 1944, he married
Katheryne Rankin in Temple, Texas. He served with the Army from 1944 to 1947 in
Germany. He retired from the VA Medical Center in 1982 as a Medical Administration
Assistant after 38 years of service. He was a long time member of the Knoxville
American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by his parents
of Attica; one brother, Charles of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews, including
Billy Rankin of Reseda, Cal. who was raised by the Sims.

A memorial has been established
to the Christian Opportunity Center.
