Funeral services for Gwendolyn Martha (Lantz) Cobble, 78, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and formerly of Knoxville, who died on Friday, March 9, 2001, at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Ind. were held on Wednesday, March 14, at Williams Funeral Home. Robert D. Clay officiated at the services. Darlene Mooberry was organist.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery. Casketbearers were Brian Cobble, Todd Cobble, Paul Lantz, Mike Klein, David Klein, and Bill La Hue.

Gwen was born on September 1, 1922, in Wapello County, the daughter of Chester Benjamin Lantz and Ruth Merchand. She attended school and graduated from Knoxville High School. She worked in clothing manufacturing in Oskaloosa, Pella and Knoxville.

She married Guy Cobble in Unionville, Mo. on July 22, 1940.
She also worked for 10X in Pleasantville and 3M in Knoxville as an inspector for
Scotch-Tint retired in 1989 after 14 years. Following the death of her husband
in 1999, she moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband,
Guy, and a brother, Clyde Lantz. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law,
Larry and Bonnie Cobble of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two grandsons; three great-grandsons;
three sisters, Lois Laines of California, Leona Carter of Saginaw, Mich., and Carol
Klein of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother, Clyde Lantz.

Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
