Guy Willis Martin, age 22, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on March 26, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Church in Knoxville, with Pastor Bruce Reitveld officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Riverside Church.
Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the church. Memorials may be made in the care of Guy’s family.
Guy was born on April 10, 2000, in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of Andrew Martin and Chasidy DeJong.
Guy grew up in Knoxville and attended school in Pella and Knoxville, graduating from Knoxville High School, Class of 2018.
The guy was passionate about working and dreamed about being a welder just like his dad and brothers.
Guy was known for sharing random facts about random things that he saw on YouTube and would talk for hours convincing you it was a fact.
Which made him a great storyteller. He enjoyed comic books, Pokemon, collecting coins and watches, video games, anime, and watching movies.
Guy also liked fishing, music (he was a big Slipknot fan), playing guitar, and absolutely loved spending time with his loved ones. Guy and his girlfriend, Jenna just bought a camper and were looking forward to camping with family and friends, and taking his nieces and nephews camping and fishing.
Those left to cherish Guy’s memory include his parents: Chasidy DeJong and Andy and Sheri Martin; siblings, Austin Strovers, Sebastian Martin, Damian Martin, Serenity Smith, David Littrel, and Stephanie Brees; girlfriend, Jenna Sharp; nieces and nephews: Mordecai, Maverick, Kam, Ryder, Jagger, Ashton John, and Makayla.
Along with grandparents: Ron and Kathy Martin, Terry and Leona DeJong; and many aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
