One year after graduating, Janetta and LeRoy Almond were united in marriage in Grinnell, Iowa, on October 5, 1973.

Janetta and LeRoy lived in several locations before settling in Oskaloosa. Janetta took great pride in raising her family. She was a fantastic cook and baker. She loved hunting for new recipes on the internet and was especially known for her delicious banana bread.

Janetta had a huge heart for her animals. Cats, dogs, birds, and fish were her main loves; she even had a few animals expecting babies when she passed.

You could often find Janette around her kitchen table with a cup of coffee, ready to talk about the facts of the day with whoever would listen. She would also enjoy catching a Western show.

Her true loves were her family, enjoying all kinds of activities, including watching her daughter, Carmen, and her son, Marty, race in figure 8 races and her grandson, Harlan, race as well.
