Georgetta Mae (Emry) Eblelsheiser passed away July 27, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident November 18, 2013.
She was born November 28, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Her family moved to Knoxville, Iowa when she was a child. Georgetta loved sports. She was a star basketball player in high school and won the Iowa State free throw championship. Her family relocated to FL in 1959.
She attended Lake City Community College and became a registered nurse. She “set up” the emergency health clinic of Occidental and the health clinic for the DOC in Hamilton County. Georgetta was employed by the Columbia County Health Dept., Columbia DOC and Meridian Behavior Health Care.
Georgetta was very independent and adventurous. She liked to travel and enjoyed riding her Honda and Harley. She was also very talented. She had her own country western band, played drums and guitar. She also played softball and umpired ballgames. She was a generous person and always helped those in need.
We loved her and will miss her very much. Georgetta is survived by son, Chris (Laura) Ebelsheiser, Step-grandchildren, Ginny, Katie and Annie, grandchildren, Steven Ebelsheiser and Christina Edens, sister, Jackie Emry Schwartz and Dr. Louis A. Schwartz, nephew, Michael C. (Denise) Schwartz, great nephews, Steven (Maria) Schwartz, Bryan (Phalon) Schwartz and, great nieces, Michelle Schwartz (Robert) Mann, Amber Schwartz Roebuck and Renee’ (Jay) Tillman.
Also surviving are numerous great-great nephews and nieces, faithful friend, co-worker and care giver Kathleen Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Frances Emry, step-father, Clifford Tompkins, nephew Steven Emry Schwartz and Patricia and niece Brenda Frances Schwartz. A private family memorial was held July 31, 2016.
