Gary Lee Storey, age 59, of Oskaloosa, and formerly of Albia and Knoxville passed
away on Thursday evening, September 23, 2010, at the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Gary was born on April 13, 1951, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Willis M. and Helene (Johnson)
Storey. Gary lived in Albia and Knoxville. He graduated from Knoxville High School.
During high school Gary began to work with Hy-Vee Food Stores. Gary worked and retired
from Hy-Vee Food Stores in Knoxville, while living in Oskaloosa. Gary enjoyed his
family, traveling, and car racing, especially sprint and stock cars.
Gary is survived
by his brother Richard Storey and Dourthy Clark of Oskaloosa; one sister Debbie
(Richard) Coop of Albia; one nephew Josh Coop; two nieces Megan Coop and Chelsea
Coop; and one great nephew Josh Aaron Coop. Gary is preceded by his grandparents;
parents Willis and Helene Storey; and two brothers Larry and Lester Storey.
Memorial
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Winfield
Funeral Home in Albia, with Rev. Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will follow services
at Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation for Gary will be held from 6:00 to 8:00
P.M., Tuesday, September 28, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with Gary’s family
present.
A Memorial will be established to Hospice Serenity House of Oskaloosa.
